Dungeons And Dragons

This piece is done by my wife. It was my idea to do one of the D&D cast because we both really like the show. I couldn't find any decent images online featuring the whole cast besides what the DVD cover offers. Well, I found two, but neither were as good a picture as this. And really, this barely passes because Uni and Eric hardly fit. Rarely will my wife ever draw anything from memory as she prefers interpret images elsewhere.

I put Venger on the left, but she did make some minor changes to how I had it in pencil form. She did make the mouth better than what I had. It was also a neat idea of her to have his wings take up space on the right, where, on the DVD cover it's a dragon, which there wouldn't have been room for if done in the same scale as the image swiped from the DVD. All we would see is body and necks of a cropped off dragon.

Still, I think it looks fine. I know she's not happy with it and I usually feel the same way after a "complicated" painting. We're both through with painting images with as many shown here. It just takes too long to paint this many people. She finished it yesterday, but exhausted herself spending 6.5 hours completing the image--all that time and the good guys were already mostly painted! See what I mean?

Anyway, we'll probably not paint figures of a cast of more than 4 from here on. It really does take a long time. It took my wife 3 weeks to complete this painting working on and off and working straight through on one day, so if I can't fault inspiration I have to blame the fact there were too many different things to paint.
